Ayesha's Story

"My wrists were so painful; I couldn’t even make my new-born’s milk formula.

The frequent flare-ups in my foot meant that I had to either elevate and rest it or put extra pressure on my left leg to support myself as I walked.

I was finally diagnosed in the Autumn of 2010, after a year of experiencing this pain, I remember feeling so overwhelmed and full of panic when I was told I would have to take medication for the rest of my life to control the inflammation... It really was life-changing news.

At that time, I needed support, help and guidance as I felt so vulnerable with my new RA diagnosis. I found NRAS and this is exactly what they gave me.

The sense of community through NRAS is invaluable. It feels like a support network that is continuously there whenever I am in need… something that I didn’t feel before.

I would like to invite you to enter the NRAS Raffle this year and help us make a difference to those living with RA and JIA."
